Indotel and Codetel sign deal for USD100 million rural connectivity project

Dominican fixed line incumbent Codetel has inked a deal with the country’s regulator, Indotel, to undertake a rural connectivity project that will see investment of USD100 million, BNamericas is reporting. The scheme will aim to provide voice and broadband services to 503 communities, and the first stage of the project is expected to be officially launched within the next few days; the initial stage will see services rolled out to 43 rural communities in 20 provinces.
