Thanks a bundle: Qtel drops additional data charges by 90%

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) has reduced charges for additional mobile data usage by 90%, meaning that all out-of-bundle mobile broadband downloads will be charged at QAR0.1 (USD0.02) for every additional 1MB. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Qtel, which had a total of 1.4 million mobile users at mid-2008, launched 3G W-CDMA services in July 2006 and upgraded its network with a commercial 3.5G HSDPA platform in December 2007.
