Japan: broadband subscriber base reached 29.34m at end-June

Japan was home to 29.34 million broadband connections at the end of June 2008, up from 28.75 million three months earlier. Of the total, 13.08 million were accessing the internet through a fibre-optic (FTTx) access platform, up from 12.15 million previously, and 12.29 million were using a copper-based xDSL service (down from 12.71 million).
