According to Reuters, Israeli mobile phone operator Partner Communications is to offer fixed internet and voice-over-broadband (VoB) services as it looks to expand its portfolio; commercial launch of the new services is expected to take place in the first half of 2009. Partner will offer e-mail access, Wi-Fi, fixed line calling through VoB and multimedia services, and the operator plans to launch what it claims is Israel’s first multimedia portal, offering movies, television shows and computer games. Partner offers mobile services under the Orange brand and is currently the second largest mobile operator by subscribers.
