Ecuadorian state-owned telco Pacifictel plans to invest USD9.7 million to roll out 32,000 wireless in the local loop (WiLL) lines based on CDMA technology in five provinces in the Austro Oriente region, reports BNamericas quoting local paper El Mercurio. Under the plan, 20,000 lines will be deployed within the next six months. According to the report, this is the last project the company will embark on by itself before its planned merger with state-run sister telco Andinatel later this month.
