Several possible bidders for Digital Plus

Spanish media group Prisa has claimed that it has received non-binding indications of interest in buying its subsidiary Digital Plus from various strategic and financial groups, Reuters is reporting; Prisa has also stated that there has been no decision or deal on the sale as yet. Companies reported to have an interest in the pay-TV unit include France’s Vivendi, Spain’s Telefonica, Spanish cable operator Ono, Orange and Mexican operator Telmex. Reports on 15 September also saw Spanish TV company Telecinco announce its interest in the company. Additionally, in July 2008 BSkyB parent company News Corp was reportedly mulling a bid of EUR2.5 billion (USD3.95 billion) for the Spanish pay-TV platform.
