The CEO of RomTelecom, Yorgos Ioannidis, says his company will be looking to accelerate the growth of its internet client base as it continues to see a slow-down in the traditional telephony sector. ‘Perhaps in a few years we will have 5-6 million broadband clients and much fewer fixed telephony ones. It is important for us to increase the total number of revenue-generating lines,’ Ioannidis told local newspaper Business Standard. The telco has launched three new fixed line subscription packages which offer free internet access for the first twelve months. RomTelecom had just under three million fixed line customers and 505,000 internet subscribers at the end of June.
