Virgin eyes WiMAX

16 Sep 2008

Cellular reseller Virgin Mobile USA has said it is interested in offering WiMAX wireless broadband devices to its customers as soon as they are launched by its network partner, Sprint Nextel. Virgin says it will have access to the Sprint WiMAX network under their existing wholesale agreement. The reseller is keen to reduce customer churn and increase average revenue per user, and offering its own WiMAX data service could be one means of achieving this.
