TDC accused of keeping prices too high

16 Sep 2008

According to local newspaper Jyllands-Posten, TDC’s CEO Jens Adler has admitted the company has a different policy for landline customers than for mobile users or broadband subscribers. ‘The more we can keep up our profit on land lines, the less pressure we have on costs in segments where prices are falling. In the really important areas such as TV, broadband and mobile broadband, we follow market prices,’ Adler is reported to have said. However, the Danish People’s Party says the policy is an abuse. ‘This just shows that TDC is abusing its monopoly to milk older customers who do not want to replace their land lines with mobile telephones’, a spokesperson said.
