ChinaTel plans to bid for 3.5GHz spectrum

According to BNamericas citing a company statement, the Argentine subsidiary of WiMAX operator ChinaTel plans to take part in an auction for 3.5GHz spectrum. The operator hopes to secure spectrum to provide services in Bahia Blanca, La Plata, Mar del Plata, Moreno, Pilar, Comodoro Rivadavia, Cordoba, Corrientes, Mendoza, Neuquen, Rosario, Santa Fe, San Juan, San Luis and San Miguel de Tucuman. The announcement follows last week’s statement that the company would participate in a 2.5GHz spectrum auction in Peru. ChinaTel Group is a business forged through a merger with Trussnet USA and wholly owned foreign enterprise (WOFE) in China.
