The board of Telecom Italia is reportedly considering the sale of a number of non-core assets in an effort to reduce the group’s EUR37 billion (USD51.5 billion) debt. A report from Reuters, which cites sources close to the company, says Telecom Italia will discuss asset sales at a board meeting on 25 September. The sale of all or part of its mobile phone transmission tower network is an option specifically being discussed, Reuters suggests. The network has been valued at up to EUR5 billion.
