The Borneo Post is reporting that Malaysian cellco Celcom expects to see revenues climb by MYR6 billion (USD1.74 billion) in 2008. Celcom’s Enterprise Services Senior Vice-President, Farid Yunis, revealed the target at the launch of a new Blackberry device, also stating, ‘We currently have the widest network coverage covering 98% of the populated areas in the country, as well as having the widest 2G, 3G and 3.5G coverage.’ Financial results for the operator for the first six month of 2008 show a 23% rise in total revenues year-on-year, to MYR2.4 billion (USD696.3 million).
