Cablevision to launch voice services in Q1 2009

15 Sep 2008

Cable TV outfit Cablevision plans to launch voice telephony services during the first quarter of 2009, reports BNamericas citing quotes made by CEO Carlos Moltini. Moltini said that the Cablevision has invested USD350 million during the last 18 months, part of a total USD500 million spending plan for years 2007 to 2011. The news comes in the wake of a recent launch of triple-play services by rival cableco Telecentro. Legislation in the country allows cable TV operators to provide triple-play services, but telecoms operators may not add broadcasting services to their current offerings.
