ChinaTel Group to bid for WiMAX licences

ChinaTel Group has announced that it plans to participate in the upcoming auction for WiMAX licences in Peru. ProInversion, the Peruvian privatisation agency, has set 28 November as the closing date for an auction of frequencies in the 2668MHz-2692MHz range for the provinces of Lima, Callao, Trujillo and Lambayeque and 2668MHz-2690MHz covering the entire country. California-headquartered ChinaTel Group’s mission is to acquire and operate WiMAX networks in key markets throughout the world. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Trussnet, ChinaTel also provides telecoms infrastructure engineering and construction services across the globe.
