Hutchison Whampoa Group’s 3G mobile operator 3 Italia has contracted Alcatel-Lucent (Alca-Lu) to expand its broadcast mobile TV network throughout Italy. Alca-Lu will extend and increase the density of 3 Italia’s DVB-H terrestrial transmitter network allowing 3 Italia to offer broadcast mobile TV services to all its 8.45 million UMTS customers.
