The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has revealed that the winner of the country’s second fixed line licence will be announced before the end of October, reports Zawya. The announcement was made at a meeting between the TRA and representatives of the shortlisted operators and consortia. The bidders have until 16 September to seek any clarifications regarding their applications, and the bids will be evaluated by 22 October with the winner being declared soon after. The licence covers the provision of local and international wireline services, radio frequencies for broadband, submarine communication cables, and transmission stations.
