Paraguay’s dominant fixed line operator Copaco says it plans to get its first cellular service off the ground next month. The GSM-based service, which was initially expected to launch last year, will be available in 250 cities and will be marketed as a hybrid fixed-mobile package BNamericas reports citing local newspaper ABC Color. Equipment is being supplied by Ericsson under a USD18 million contract, which calls for the delivery of 118 base stations and 100,000 SIM cards.
