28 Aug 2008

Under its Early Transition Countries (ETC) initiative launched in 2004, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has granted a loan of up to USD2.7 million to Tajik ISP Telecomm Technology to co-finance the modernisation and expansion of its networks. Telecomm Technology is working on the introduction of a new service which will combine fixed telephony with internet access and is currently building a Next Generation Network (NGN) which would allow the company to connect individual and corporate customers without the need for deploying expensive cable connections. The technology will enable the company to offer high speed internet, fixed and mobile telephony as well as other services without having to use other access networks.
