Dialog and Polkomtel report Q2 results

Telefonia Dialog, the fixed line telco owned by mining conglomerate KGHM Polska Miedz, made a loss of PLN21 million (USD9.26 million) in Q2 2008, compared to a loss of PLN4.6 million in the same period of 2007. Revenues for the three months ended 30 June 2008 were PLN140 million, up from PLN122 million, while EBITDA was PLN5.4 million, down from PLN43.3 million. At the end of June Dialog had 396,000 telephony subscribers and 124,500 broadband customers, including 6,100 using the newly introduced bitstream access.

Meanwhile wireless network operator Polkomtel, also partially owned by KGHM, reported a net profit of PLN416 million in the second quarter, an increase of 16.8% year-on-year. EBITDA for the three month period stood at PLN867 million, up by PLN130 million compared to the same period of 2007.
