Synterra says profits jump 250%

The Russian wireline and fixed-wireless operator Synterra has reported a 250% increase in net profits for 2007 at USD138 million. Revenues for the year more than doubled to USD449 million. ‘The considerable revenue growth in 2007 was primarily due to organic growth in the business of the Synterra Group,’ the company said in a statement which was reported by RIA Novosti. Synterra operates a 65,000km long-distance network covering 70 Russian regions and also uses WiMAX technology to connect end users.
