Australian telco Telstra has announced results for its fiscal year ended 30 June 2008, reporting net profit of AUD3.71 billion (USD3.25 billion), a 13.3% rise year-on-year. Telstra generated total revenues of AUD24.8 billion, up 4.7% from the previous year, which the telco attributed to strong growth in mobile and internet revenues. For the year ahead, Telstra stated it expects to see 3%-4% growth in sales and a 6%-8% rise in earnings before interest , tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA); the operator also revised its guidance for fiscal 2010, raising forecasts for revenue growth and EBITDA to 3%-4% and 3%-3.5% respectively.
