Revenues up 9.9% for Cellcom Israel in 2Q

Cellcom Israel has released its second quarter results, with the Israeli cellco reporting a 9.9% increase in revenues against the same period last year. The three month period ended 30 June 2008 saw Cellcom generate revenues of ILS1.6 billion (USD447 million), with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) also growing 14.7% year-on-year to ILS617 million. Cellcom also revealed that it had reached 3.117 million subscribers by the end of June. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Cellcom currently leads the Israeli mobile market with a 34.58% market share at March 2008, narrowly ahead of rivals Partner Communications Company and Pelephone.
