Hutchison completes Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor cable system

13 Aug 2008

Hutchison Global Communications (HGC) has completed the integration of its Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor fibre-optic cable system with China Telecom’s mainland network, adding the fourth China-Hong Kong cross-border fibre route. In a press release, HGC said the work makes it the only fixed line operator in Hong Kong to have installed and self-funded fibre-optic cables and ducts along the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor, linking with Shenzhen Bay Port and mainland China while interconnecting with the network of China’s largest wireline operator.
