Portugal’s telecoms regulator Anacom says the country was home to 1.92 million registered mobile broadband users at the end of June, up almost 95% year-on-year. Of these, more than 886,000 were active in the second quarter of this year, representing an increase of over 146% on the same period last year. The fixed broadband internet customer base saw annual growth of just 3.4% to reach 1.57 million, with over 58% of these connected via ADSL technology. Taking into account a drop in dial-up user numbers, the actual total number of fixed internet users fell by 0.7% year-on-year.
