Zain Nigeria is targeting a subscriber base of 30 million within the next three years, reports local newspaper Vanguard. The operator currently has 15 million subscribers, but CEO Bayo Ligali is confident the company can double that number. ‘[Nigeria] has less than 40% market penetration. The people with money bought SIMs in 2001 and it is our responsibility to bring it to rest of Nigerians,’ he said. However, the executive also warned that problems with the supply of electricity in Nigeria were hampering efforts to operate a reliable and stable network.
