ANRCETI launches 3G tender

Moldova’s telecoms regulator ANRCETI has launched a 3G licence tender reports Telecompaper. The terms of the 15-year concession(s) require the winner(s) to launch 3G services by 1 August 2009 and to have covered Chisinau and the Balti region by the end of the first year of operation. By the end of the second year, coverage should be expanded to Comrat municipality, as well as district centres Cahul, Orhei, Ungheni and Soroca, and by the end of the third year the remaining 29 Moldovan district centres will have to be covered. The watchdog has not yet specified how many licences will be awarded.
