Better luck this time for Qwest

After a split vote, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has granted Qwest Communications’ request for ‘forbearance’ exemption from enterprise broadband pricing limits. The move follows swiftly after the FCC turned down Qwest’s request for forbearance from wholesale pricing regulation in four of its markets at the end of last month. The new ruling covers commercial broadband connections (excluding T-1 enterprise connections), and it is likely Qwest will now deploy a range of pricing structures for a variety of bundled service packages aimed at corporate customers.
