Chilean telecoms operator Entel has reported a 6% increase in revenues in the three month period ended 30 June 2008 to CLP243.4 billion (USD476 million), compared to the same period of 2007. EBITDA rose 11% from CLP91.7 billion to CLP101.5 billion, while net income rose 8% to CLP39.3 billion. Mobile services generated CLP190.3 billion in sales, up 8% year-on-year, in part as an 11% increase in subscribers to 5.82 million. Blended ARPU slipped by 4% as a result of lower incoming traffic from third parties and a decline in outgoing average tariffs. These were partially offset by increased outgoing traffic and VAS revenues.
