National statistics institute Indec has revealed that Argentina was home to 43.2 million wireless subscribers at the end of June, up 18.9% year-on-year, reports BNamericas. Mobile traffic soared 40% to reach 2.9 billion calls, while fixed line traffic was up 14.2% to 1.3 billion calls. Meanwhile, the number of domestic long-distance (DLD) calls grew 19.1% to 313 million and outgoing international long-distance (ILD) calls rose 14.5% to 20.1 million. At the end of the month there were 9.3 million fixed lines, up from nine million. The number of public phones fell by 12.9% to 132,800.
