CHT expects one million FTTx customers by year end

Taiwanese Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has said it expects its fibre-to-the-home/building (FTTx) subscribers to reach the one million mark by the end of 2008. The operator currently has more than 810,000 FTTx customers and is aiming for 3.27 million by 2013. It expects FTTx will overtake its ADSL platform in terms of service capacity and number of subscribers in 2011.

CHT also revealed it expects its 3G subscriber base to increase from 3.3 million in 2008 to 4.4 million in 2009 and then 8.5 million in 2013.
