BT launches next generation broadband network

31 Jul 2008

BT Ireland has switched on a next generation broadband network in the Republic in a move that could deliver broadband speeds of up to 24Mbps to households and businesses across the country. The move follows a recent decision in January this year to introduce an 8Mbps service in parts of Dublin, Kildare and Limerick. BT director Emer Kennedy hopes the new next generation network will ‘radically shake up’ the market, trebling broadband speeds without increasing prices.
