1,000 websites to be unblocked

Officials for the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority say that internet users in the UAE will be able to access more than 1,000 websites previously deemed as offensive. According to local newspaper The National, the watchdog will instruct internet provider duopoly Etisalat and Du to unblock the sites before 29 August as part of its new ‘internet access management’ policy.
