OTE fined EUR9m over Tellas LLU delays

29 Jul 2008

OTE has been fined EUR9 million (USD14.2 million) by the Greek competition authorities for violation of competition rules over delays in delivering unbundled local loops to alternative telco Tellas in 2006-2007. During the period, Tellas – alongside other operators – had its launch of double-play fixed line telephony and ADSL packages (including line rental) delayed by OTE in contravenance of the law. Separately, Tellas’s acquisition of smaller company Syned (Nova) has received regulatory approval.
