Two firms left in Italian tower sale

28 Jul 2008

The Italian communications tower operator DMT has asked for exclusive negotiations with cellular operators 3 Italia and Wind over the sale of their network towers. DMT and Spain’s Abertis Infraestructuras are thought to be the only companies left in the running to acquire the transmission towers held by the two cellcos. Italian newspaper Il Giornale says the tower assets could be worth between EUR1.5 billion and EUR2 billion.
