NextWave Wireless sells USD150.1 million of AWS spectrum

NextWave Wireless has agreed to sell part of its advanced wireless services (AWS) radio spectrum for USD150.1 million to four parties. Subject to approval by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), NextWave will sell 599 million MHz-pops of AWS spectrum at an average price of USD0.25 per MHz-pop. After the sale NextWave will own 348 million MHz-pops of AWS spectrum primarily in New England, Florida and California. The largest chunk of spectrum was sold to T-Mobile USA, for roughly USD98 million. Atlantic Wireless, ACS Wireless and MetroPCS were the other purchasers.
