Telekom 4 Telecommunication (Telekom 4) has announced plans to enter the Hungarian market this year, either as the country’s first mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), or by using its own frequencies and network. Telekom 4 chief executive officer Peter Neuman told MTI News that his company has been examining the possibility of entering the market either alone or as part of a consortium, for a year. In May this year the company was quoted as saying it would offer a low-cost pricing model in an effort to attract new users. Analysts believe the MVNO would need to sign up at least 150,000 customers in order to cover its initial investment.
