Comstar’s mobile WiMAX network for Moscow

Comstar UTS the largest fixed line and broadband operator in the Moscow region has selected Nortel to develop a mobile WiMAX network in the capital. The 802.16e network is expected to be completed by the end of 2008 and will comprise 160 base stations. The overall investments in the project are expected to amount to approximately USD20 million in 2008.

Comstar UTS also offers communications services in five Russian regions, Armenia and Ukraine, and earlier this week announced the completion of its mobile WiMAX network in the Republic of Armenia.
