Indonesia’s dominant telecommunications company, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom), is mulling plans to purchase a Singaporean content provider to strengthen its business operation in southeast Asia, Antara News reports. It is understood the content provider is just one of a number of telecoms-related companies Telkom is looking to acquire under its expansion programme. Bisnis Indonesia writes that the operator has also lined up separate deals to snap up six Indonesian IT firms for a total of around USD40 million. Telkom is investing up to USD2.3 billion in the current financial year, half of which will be spent on developing its mobile arm Telkomsel.
