The Romanian telecoms regulator ANRCTI has released information on its forthcoming tender of WiMAX spectrum. Two concessions will be offered in the 3.6GHz-3.657GHz and 3.7GHz-3.757GHz ranges, with the fee for each licence set at EUR7.5 million (USD11.9 million). A third permit has been reserved for the National Radiocommunications Company (SNR) which has vacated frequencies to allow the tender to take place. A public consultation is being opened to establish the details of the comparative selection procedure and the fee to be paid by SNR for its concession. ANRCTI says the licensing procedure should take around six months to complete.
