Uralsvyazinform releases 2007 results

Russian fixed line operator Uralsvyazinform, which is controlled by the state holding company Svyazinvest, said earnings to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) rose to RUB2.297 billion (USD97.7 million) in 2007 from RUB758.5 million in 2006. Revenue rose 15.6% to 39.1 billion roubles. OIBDA reached RUB12.5 billion, an increase of 36.8% year-on-year, and the OIBDA margin improved to 32% from 27.1% in 2006.

General Director Anatoly Ufimkin said, ‘Mobile business and broadband internet access remain key drivers of growth’ as revenue from mobile services rose 23.1% to RUB12.5 billion, and revenue from internet services increased 36.9% to RUB3.5 billion, each accounting for 31.9% and 8.9% of total sales respectively.
