TCC eases restrictions on Telekom Austria's broadband operations

10 Jul 2008

Austrian telecoms regulator Telekom Control Commission (TCC) has decided to relax restrictions placed on Telekom Austria’s broadband infrastructure activities. The regulations include access obligation, the non-discrimination commitment including a standard offer, the cost control obligation and the separate accounts obligation. Telekom Austria will continue to face comprehensive anti-monopoly measures for its wholesale broadband offerings in rural areas, but the regulator feels there is now sufficient competition in urban markets to reduce the restrictions that were placed on the incumbent operator’s activities in these locations.
