Optus announces 3G coverage in Darwin

Optus, the Australian mobile operator, has announced the launch of 3G coverage in the Darwin area. In a press release Mark Wiliamson, director of the Northern Region said: ‘Optus has upgraded all its mobile sites in Darwin to offer 3G services. We are also planning to build extra sites to expand our 3G coverage in Moil, Malak, Charles Darwin Uni, Ludmilla and Darwin CBD West in the coming months’. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database Optus is expecting to complete its 3G rollout by 2010.
