Telcel extends 3.5G network

A press release from Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has announced the expansion of Telcel’s 3G wireless services in several cities in Mexico. NSN has provided the infrastructure solution, based on 3G/3.5G High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) technology. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database 3G/3.5G services were initially launched by Telcel in February 2008 and subsequently expanded to sixteen cities. The press release did not name the new cities covered.
