Telstra launches GPS option

3 Jul 2008

Telstra has announced the launch of a new service, Whereis Everyone, which allows customers to use its Assisted Global Positioning System (AGPS) and network positioning to locate friends and family or even track the whereabouts of a lost phone. Prices for the service start at AUD0.5 (USD0.48) for a single look-up request, with a subscription service offered at AUD2.95 per month. Privacy concerns are managed by allowing the customer full control of the service, with each request for location tracking having to be accepted by the user.
