Cabase working on national infrastructure map

3 Jul 2008

The president of ISP association Cabase has told BNamericas that it expects to complete a study mapping out all fibre and wireless backhaul infrastructure by the end of 2008. The map could then be used to create an alternative national background. Cabase plans to divide the country into sub-regions that are likely to exchange a lot of traffic locally, and arrange for semi-autonomous backbone rings in each of the regions. It has already ascertained that there is fibre available to interconnect the sub-regions of Patagonia, central Argentina, the northwest and the northeast.
