Telefonica launches 16Mbps broadband service

Colombian fixed line operator Telefonica Telecom has launched a broadband service to residents of Bogota offering download speeds of up to 16Mbps, the company said in a statement. The connection is being offered as part of a triple-play package, which includes unlimited local fixed line calls and satellite TV services, for COP354,000 (USD185) a month. The company has also launched 2Mbps broadband access to customers in Barranquilla, Cali, Cartagena, Neiva Ibague, Cucuta and Pasto for COP 112,000 per month.
