Six call on ACCC to rule on ULL dispute

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has received notification of six telecoms access disputes, under Part XIC of the Trade Practices Act 1974. Primus Telecommunications, Optus Networks, XYZed, Request Broadband, PowerTel and Chime Communications have all separately notified the watchdog of access disputes relating to the supply of unbundled local loops (ULL) by Telstra. The disputes all relate to monthly rental, connection and other charges for the supply of ULLs by Telstra for the period beginning 30 June 2008. The ACCC has commenced arbitration.
