27 Jun 2008

In an interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Telecom Italia’s CEO, Franco Bernabe, has called for new investments in the country’s next generation network (NGN) to make broadband internet services available across the whole of the country. He stated, ‘a joint effort is needed, from Telecom, the authority, the government and third party operators, to give the country this fundamental asset’, before adding, ‘If the government can’t make those investments, then the private sector will have to step in’.
