J:COM picks Cisco to facilitate ultra-high speed broadband

Cisco Systems has been picked by Japanese multiservice operator Jupiter Telecommunications (J:COM) to supply it with Cisco DPC3000 DOCSIS 3.0 channel bonded cable modems for use in its J:COM NET Ultra 160Mbps broadband service. J:COM’s ultra high speed service incorporates four bonded channels for both the downstream and upstream data, and the Cisco DPC3000 can deliver downstream data rates in excess of 160Mbps and upstream data rates up to 120Mbps, it said.
