On Friday the ANRCTI launched a tender for a national licence for the use of radio frequencies in the 410MHz-415MHz/420MHz-425MHz bands to provide data/voice network services. According to a statement, the licence will enable the holder to build, own and operate a broadband network across Romania, with a minimum service specification to include voice and data transmissions at an average download rate of 128kbps. The licence fee is set at EUR1.077 million (USD1.68 million). The concession and auction terms are available to be purchased from the regulator’s website until 4 July, with a deadline for submitting offers of 4 August. A winner will be chosen by 8 September. The tender excludes existing Romanian operators that hold any national licence for the use of radio frequencies.
